Mater Dei Prep has an extensive transportation plan supporting our families in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex Counties. Beyond busing families through their township, we created three additional bus routes and a shuttle service from the Middletown train station to support families who elect to take the train.
There are some important items to be aware of, no matter what high school your child may attend:
• Busing to Mater Die Prep generally comes directly from your resident school district. This is the township to which you pay your taxes.
• To be eligible for student transportation (busing) or Aid-In-Lieu (definition below) by a school district, a high school student must live more than 2.5 miles and less than 20 miles from the high school.
• Aid-In-Lieu is financial assistance provided by school districts that do not provide busing, and is not offered by all school districts. Presently it is set at $1,000.00 annually, and is paid to eligible families directly by the applicable school districts.
• The Mater Dei Prep bus is provided at a cost to the family that would be offset by any aid-in-lieu payments made by your district. Mater Dei Prep continues to search for innovative ways to meet the transportation needs of our students and their families. Our team will work closely with you to find a transportation solution. To facilitate the transportation process we utilize centralized pick-up locations ( hub stops).
