Emily has been a valued member of the Seraph community since her freshman year. Currently she has 4.6 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society and Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society. Not only does Emily succeed in the classroom but in extracurricular activities as well. Emily was named team captain of the Mater Dei Prep tennis team and a valuable member of the art club. After graduation, Emily plans to attend Rutgers University or TCNJ to study Computer Science.
In 2016, Mater Dei Prep was pleased to announce the establishment of the Corporal Kevin James Reinhard Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Corporal Kevin James Reinhard Memorial Fund and the hard work of Emily Tronolone and her family.
This scholarship fund seeks to immortalize the life and accomplishments of Cpl. Kevin J. Reinhard, a 2005 graduate of Saint Joseph’s High School in Metuchen. Kevin attended college and then enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2008. Before he completed his service, Kevin was killed in a helicopter crash on January 19, 2012. Kevin’s commitment to Saint Joseph’s and its mission helped his family realize the best way to honor his memory and celebrate his life was to create a scholarship in his name. Those who have made the scholarship possible generously extended it to Mater Dei Prep in 2016 as they felt Mater Dei Prep students embody the characteristics that made Kevin so special. The recipients of this scholarship are expected to exemplify the outstanding characteristics of academic achievement, participation in school activities, service to other and leadership through good character and example.
Community Service is a way of life for Emily and has volunteered countless hours to make sure the Corporal Kevin James Reinhard Memorial Fund continues to grow. For her senior Capstone project, Emily created a new website in order to help the Corporal Kevin James Reinhard Memorial Fund manage and collect donations. Thanks to her hard work the Memorial Fund was also able to present generous donations to both The Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Emily has also volunteered at every annual golf outing to help raise money and awareness for the Corporal Kevin James Reinhard Memorial Fund.
“I have developed a strong passion for this fund since I started volunteering a few years ago. Being a part of their cause has motivated me to continue to give back to the community that I love and take this fund to great heights,” said Emily Tronolone.
Emily has always had a strong passion for performing music and has used her passion to give back to the community. Emily’s band Phantom has performed in charity shows supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Allaire Rehab & Nursing Center in Freehold, New Jersey. Phantom’s generosity and performance at the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Monroe, NJ helped raise the funds needed to send a young girl on her dream trip to Disney World. In addition Phantom also raised over $3,000 to support Alzheimer's New Jersey.
Mrs. Kelly King, School Counselor at Mater Dei Prep, was extremely proud to nominate Emily. “Emily is an outstanding student who is always willing to go above and beyond for anyone. I have enjoyed guiding her through her high school journey at Mater Dei Prep and know she will continue to do amazing things. I am extremely proud of Emily and wish her the best of luck in college.”
