Scholarships
INCOMING FRESHMEN:
MONSIGNOR BULMAN CAMPUS PARTNERS PROGRAMAll applicants are required to have a current average of a 90 and must submit an application, resume, letter of recommendation, and essay. Those that qualify will be asked to attend an interview with the administration and select faculty at Mater Dei Prep. Each year 10 students are selected to join the program and will receive a $2,500 scholarship towards their tuition each year. Accepted students are required to maintain a minimum GPA of 4.3 (on a 5.0 scale), and continue to show progress each year by meeting the designated benchmarks.
Students applying for the Capstone Program must be entering the freshman class and have previously completed their Mater Dei Prep application. Applicants are automatically registered for the HSPT when they submit their Mater Dei Prep application.UNDERGRADUATE:
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore student to commemorate the life of Katie McCarthy and ensure her message and way of life are recognized and valued. Katie loved everything about life; she valued God and her family above everything else. She valued every person she met. Katie loved to smile. She loved to laugh. She loved to sing. She loved to talk. Katie appreciated all the little gifts of life.
The recipient of this scholarship will be selected by the McCarthy Family and a committee of Mater Dei Prep faculty and administrators. The award is granted to the student, with the $1,000 paid directly to Mater Dei Prep.

SENIORS:
The Ellen Cunningham Akmentins Fund was established by her parents as a memorial scholarship program, developed to perpetuate their daughter’s love for the fields of communication and education in a meaningful, loving manner. This $10,000 scholarship is awarded annually to students who will be majoring in communications or teaching in college.
Applicants are required to write an essay on “Why I chose communications or teaching as my major.” Please forward your essay to ljuelis@materdeiprep.org please note “Ellen Cunningham Akmentins Scholarship” in the subject line, or mail a hard copy to Mater Dei Prep, Ellen Cunningham Akmentins Scholarship, 538 Church Street, Middletown, NJ 07748.
The recipient will be announced at graduation.
THE GRACE AZZOLINA SCADUTO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This $1,000 scholarship is presented to a female senior in memory of Grace’s dedication to her family, philanthropic advocacy, community service and her ongoing courage as a breast cancer victim. Students applying must be an active member in activities such as student body government, future business leaders of America and/or any type of charitable work. Students must also exhibit the attributes of leadership, kindness, civic-mindedness, and respect for fellow peers. Applicants must also demonstrate community service and a desire to further their education upon graduation. Special consideration will be given to any student who has demonstrated perseverance and courage in the face of adversity or extraordinary personal circumstances.
Applicants are asked to write a letter to the selection committee explaining how they exemplify the same characteristics that Grace did during her life. Applicants can include their experience with community service, their interest in business, the importance of kindness and respect, and how they hope to continue this service in college and beyond.

The Scholarship recipient will be chosen by the Mater Dei Prep selection committee and the recipient will be announced at graduation.
Selected by the Mater Dei Prep Scholarship Committee, this $500 award is given in memory of Charles and Anthony Anderson by Mr. John A. Anderson, former assistant principal at Mater Dei Prep. This award is given to a senior who exemplifies the love for Mater Dei Prep, love for fellow students, cooperation with the Mater Dei Prep administration and someone who can be counted on in a time of need.
An additional $250 will be added to the award if the student is the child of a St. Mary School graduate. An additional $250 will also be added to the award if the student is a child of a Mater Dei Prep graduate.
The recipient will be announced at graduation.
