2019 Mater Dei Prep Hall of Fame Ceremony

The Mater Dei Prep Hall of Fame honors members of the Seraph community for their extraordinary co-curricular accomplishments, distinguished achievement in their respective fields, extraordinary service and support of their Alma Mater, and team state championships. All nominations are reviewed by the Hall of Fame Nominating Committee and final honoree selections are made by the Mater Dei Prep Hall of Fame Committee.
The Mater Dei Prep Hall of Fame Committee is proud to announce the distinguished members of its 2019 induction class:
 
Laura Catanzaro - Class of 2012. Track and Field. Often called a "triple threat" by her coaches because of her ability to score points and place in all three throwing categories: shot put, discus and javelin and help the MDP track teams finish 1st Place in the division. Some of her accomplishments: 6 time NJ Meet of Champions qualifier. Also achieved the title of state champion 6 times. Laura graduated third in her class and was a member of National Honor society. Now a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Kessler Rehabilitation Center.
 
Taylor Curti - Class of 2012. Basketball, Softball and Field Hockey. Scored over 1300 points in basketball. All Division 4 Years, 1st team all division three years 2010 - 2012, 2012 Basketball Shore all star selection. Currently works for Merrill Lynch in New York City as a client associate.
 
Daniel D'Alessandro - Class of 1998. Football, Basketball and Baseball. All County Defense End in Football. All County Pitcher/2 Time Team MVP. Service to Mater Dei baseball pitching instructor after graduation. Current Partner at McCarter and English, NJ's largest law firm.
 
Eric D'Alessandro - Class of 2000. Football, Basketball and Baseball. Baseball 2 time All Shore/4 year All Conference. Football All Conference Linebacker/Team Captain/100 yards rushing in state semi-final win over St. Mary's of Rutherford. Also helped as Mater Dei baseball instructor after graduation. Current Institutional EM Bond Salesman at Citigroup.
 
Shannon Hoadley - Class of 1989. Extraordinary Service. Whether it be as a coach, mentor or friend Shannon has been a loyal Seraph for over 34 years. Current member of coaching staff for football team that has been to the state finals for the past three years. His motto, "What is best for the school is most important." He has dedicated so much of his and his family’s time for the betterment of the school.
 
Fallon Quigley - Class of 2014. Track and Field. Fallon won two division championships, two Monmouth County Championships, two state sectional championships and two Shore Conference Championships in the High Jump. This has never before or since been accomplished at either Mater Dei nor the entire shore conference. Fallon is pursuing a career in physical therapy.
 
1983-84 Boys Varsity Basketball Team. One of the most winningest and consistent teams in Mater Dei History. The team coached by Larry Hennessy and led by Bill Stefanski and Matt Yetman, was 4-time Shore Conference C Division Champions. From 1980-84 they won 85 games and held, at the time, the longest win streak of 50 + straight in conference wins. These players also appeared twice in the South Jersey State Championship Sectional Final and Shore Conference Tournament Final.

 
The Reverend Paul Gluth Award will be presented posthumously to teacher and coach Kevin W. Attridge, who died in December 2018. The Gluth Award, named for Mater Dei’s first athletic director, is presented periodically to recognize outstanding contributions to Mater Dei Prep.
