Yesterday, October 30th, Freshman students took a day away from their busy schedule at Mater Dei Prep for reflection and prayer at San Alfonso Retreat House in Long Branch. Retreat Master Melissa Dayton from St. Benedict's Church led the students, focusing on the theme: "Behold, I make all things new." Students had a chance to reflect on how Jesus constantly calls them to newness. There was a special emphasis on our relationships with God and with each other. They explored the value of friendship and the importance of choosing good friends. Students had the opportunity for individual silent prayer along with the opportunity for confession and the celebration of Mass. Feedback from the students was very positive, and we look forward to some great retreats in the spring for the Sophomores and Juniors!
