Why Support?

Mater Dei was built in the 1960's through the generosity and support of a generation of families who believed in the importance of a faith-based education for their children.  They answered Monsignor Bulman's call to build a Catholic high school in St. Mary's Parish, and they worked with him to fulfill his vision.  Those families invested in the future of their children - and students throughout Monmouth County - by ensuring that Mater Dei was here for them when it was time for high school.  Their planning and preparation resulted in a vibrant and dynamic academic institution that has provided students with an outstanding and challenging education for more than 40 years.

Building On Our Tradition Of Excellence

For almost fifty years, Mater Dei has guided students, who value a Catholic education by providing them with unique learning opportunities that ultimately lead to a well-rounded secondary school experience. I am reminded that Mater Dei Prep would not be able to provide the level of academic excellence it does without you, our alumni and friends.

As you may know, your high school alma mater recently changed its name to Mater Dei: A Catholic Preparatory School. This change reflects the long tradition of academic rigor and excellence at Mater Dei and also speaks to the continued innovative enrichment of our programs and facilities. All Mater Dei Prep students can obtain college credits before graduating through partnerships in dual-enrollment programs.

This year’s Annual Fund campaign Building On Our Tradition Of Excellence coincides with our goal to broaden our students’ horizons each and every day through Advanced Placement (AP) classes and our dual-enrollment programs, an innovative technology program, numerous extracurricular activities, competitive varsity level sports, and opportunities for spiritual and leadership development through Christian service work.

As a graduate or friend of Mater Dei, you know the benefit of a robust high school experience rooted in the Catholic faith. You play an important role in continuing Mater Dei's proud academic tradition. Only with your help can we continue to prepare our current students for the challenges they will face in college and in life. Your gift to the 2010-2011 Annual Fund is an investment in Mater Dei Prep’s future and it helps secure the futures of our students.

Your generosity to our Annual Fund, the foundation for our fundraising efforts, helps current students be and do their best at Mater Dei Prep. Gifts from alumni and friends help us bridge the gap that tuition alone cannot cover, enable us to provide tuition assistance, academic scholarships, upgrades to our technology program, and support our renovations to our Research Center and to our school Chapel.

Participation is essential to the success of our Building On Our Tradition Of Excellence Annual Fund, which runs until June 30, 2011, the end of our fiscal year.
